Peanut Butter Hot Fudge Sauce

I always have toppings in my fridge, be it Lemon Curd, Salted Caramel and my recent favorite a Peanut Butter Hot Fudge. I have always been a fan of hot fudge and would always get it as a topping at Baskin Robbins but this combo of Chocolate and Peanut butter is absolutely divine - at least it is in my humble opinion!

Glass of wine, basil leaves, tomatoes, dry pasta and some salt grains on a white tablecloth

This is also such a great treat to take as gifts for friends and family. If you have icecream in your freezer and a bottle of this fudge in your fridge - trust me you are sorted for dessert! Eating it by the spoonful is my weakness and therefore be warned that there is a real possibility you could fall into Chocolate PB coma! You can be naughty and make this an adult sauce by adding a few tsps of your favorite liqueur - you won't stop licking the spoon - thank me later!

Ingredients:

Dark Chocolate (chopped) - 1 & 1/2 cup

Condensed Milk - 1 can (14oz)

Peanut Butter - 1/3 cup (can substitute with nut butter of choice, choose the smooth version) Vanilla Essence - 1 tsp

Liqueur - optional few tsps (I love adding a bit of Kahlua)

Method:

Melt all ingredients except alcohol in a saucepan until smooth and creamy. Add the liqueur at the end and stir again till smooth. If the sauce is too thick you can add a bit of water however it should be slightly thick. Cool and store in glass jars in the fridge. Reheat in the microwave for about 30 seconds and stir well. Mine looks grainy because I used homemade peanut butter. If you use store bought smooth PB then your sauce will be smooth and glossy.

Enjoy topped over ice creams, pancakes, waffles or like me by the spoonful!
